About the Position

Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse – Tennessee

Start Date: ASAP (orientations held every Monday)

Location: Jackson, Tennessee

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36-hour orientation; patient ratio 4-5:1 for days, nights, and weekends; must be willing to float to other Med Surg/Tele units

Highlights:

• Work with an interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Care for oncology/hematology and medical-surgical telemetry patients in a 36-bed unit with average daily census of 34
• Epic EMR system with required competency testing
• Adult and geriatric patient population with diverse case mix including CVA, post-MI, orthopedic trauma, total joint replacement, and oncology
• One pre-approved time off period available per contract
• Comprehensive support services including lift teams, interpretation services, and transportation

Requirements:

• Active Compact or Tennessee RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; travel experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting experience within the last 18 months required and must be clearly documented on profile
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Two supervisory references required at submission
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only); Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Core Skills Required:

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Blood product administration and central line care/management
• IV insulin and heparin protocols
• BiPAP/CPAP management and high-flow nasal cannula
• Wound care/wound vac management
• PCA and peripheral nerve block catheters
• Pre/post-operative care including neurosurgery and total joint replacement
• Tracheostomy care and chest tube management
• Starting and maintaining IVs, PICC line management, and accessing/managing ports
