Must-Have:
Required cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills/experience
Interpretation of dysrhythmias
Management of dysrhythmias
Multi-system organ failure management
Obtain 12 lead EKG
Experience with thermoregulation (hypothermia/hyperthermia)
IV insulin protocol experience
GI surgery experience
Experience with chronic/acute renal failure
IV therapy skills/experience: accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs
Medication skills/experience: continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, procedural sedation administration, titrate cardiac drips, titrate vasoactive drips
Neurological case skills/experience: CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drains, hypothermia protocol, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury
Respiratory/thoracic case skills/experience: assist with management of BiPAP, assist with management of CPAP, assist with chest tube insertion/removal, care of ventilated patient, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of ABGs, suctioning, ventilator management
Professional topics and skills: infection precautions, isolation precautions, use of PPE, phlebotomy, surgical wounds with drains/wound vac


Description:
Position and specialty: SCU/ED Float RN
Shift: 3x12 Nights (1900-0730)
Average daily census: 5 patients
Number of rooms: 8, number of beds: 10
First-timers accepted
Weekend requirement: Up to every other weekend
On-call requirement: May be placed on call as needed for the department
Will float to other units as needed, specifically ED
Open to accommodating block schedule: No, the scheduler will work with you as best they can
Pending license accepted
RTO restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
Client may cancel shifts at any time without penalty
On-call hours do not count towards the guaranteed minimum hours
Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
Patient age groups: Adults and geriatrics
Daily census: 5-6
Additional unit information: High patient ratios, scheduled weekend shifts


Travelers will receive stipends for completing pre-start modules, which are required pre-start and recorded by transcripts.
