A bout the Role:

The Material Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently moving, storing, staging, and tracking materials throughout the manufacturing facility. This role supports production by ensuring that raw materials, components, supplies, and finished goods are available in the right place at the right time. The Material Handler will operate material handling equipment, maintain accurate inventory records, follow safety procedures, and help keep warehouse and production areas organized.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Load, unload, move, and stage raw materials, components, packaging supplies, and finished goods throughout the facility.
• Deliver materials to production lines, workstations, or designated storage locations based on production schedules and material requests.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, carts, or other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities against packing slips or purchase orders, and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
• Label, organize, scan, and store materials in assigned locations to support inventory accuracy and efficient material flow.
• Pick, pack, stage, and prepare materials or finished goods for production, transfer, or shipment.
• Complete required paperwork, system transactions, inventory updates, and material movement records accurately and on time.
• Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory, and investigation of inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company housekeeping and safety standards.
• Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Communicate with production, warehouse, shipping, receiving, and managers to support daily operational needs.
• Report equipment issues, unsafe conditions, damaged materials, or quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing and warehouse operations.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, distribution, or material handling environment preferred.
• Ability to safely operate or become certified to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills required to verify counts, complete documentation, and follow work instructions.
• Ability to use or learn handheld scanners, inventory systems, warehouse management systems, or ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior forklift certification or experience operating powered industrial trucks.
• Experience supporting production lines in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with cycle counting, shipping and receiving, inventory control, or material staging.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, and lift throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and move materials as required by the position, up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with frequent movement between warehouse, production, shipping, and receiving areas.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, such as safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, or other protection as required.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. The role may involve exposure to moving equipment, production machinery, varying temperatures, noise, dust, and other conditions commonly found in manufacturing operations. Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures and maintain awareness of their surroundings at all times.
