The Team The A&M Restructuring Tax Services (RTS) team comprises specialized tax professionals dedicated to advising debtors, creditors, and other stakeholders on tax matters related to bankruptcy and restructuring. We help distressed companies address significant tax issues throughout the restructuring process, focusing on avoiding unexpected cash tax losses, optimizing tax asset preservation, and identifying strategic transaction efficiencies. How You Will Contribute As an integral member of the A&M Restructuring Tax Services team, you will: Advise public and private companies on intricate restructuring tax issues such as cancellation of debt income (CODI), significant debt modifications, consolidated attribute reduction, and cash tax modeling. Conduct in-depth research and provide analysis on pertinent tax and bankruptcy code sections and regulations. Prepare detailed summaries of financial information for both public and private firms, enhancing our data‑driven approach. Build and maintain complex financial models and management presentations to facilitate effective client communication. Engage in discussions with clients and their advisors, providing expert guidance on restructuring tax matters. Support business development initiatives, helping our practice grow and thrive in a dynamic environment. Qualifications A CPA, JD (preferably with a bachelor's degree in accounting), Masters in Taxation or LLM. A minimum of 7 years of experience in a mergers & acquisitions tax practice in a Big 4 firm, Big Law firm, or similar environment, with at least 4 years focused on restructuring tax. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly and concisely. Strong analytical abilities, adept at resolving complex problems and devising effective solutions. High proficiency in spreadsheets, capable of managing and analyzing large datasets. Proven track record of handling multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality. A genuine eagerness to learn and grow, committed to continuous improvement. Ability to mentor and train junior team members, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. The salary range for this position is $165,000 - $200,000 annually, depending on various factors including education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
