About the Facility – Gallup Indian Medical Center The Gallup Indian Medical Center is a 99-bed hospital in Gallup, New Mexico, on the border of the Navajo Reservation. Clinical specialties at the GIMC include internal medicine, cardiology, anesthesia, OB/GYN, general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, ENT, radiology, pathology, pediatrics, psychiatry, emergency medicine, and urology. The workload at Gallup is one of the largest in the Indian Health Service, with 250,000 outpatient encounters and 5800 inpatient admissions annually. Facility Address: 1808 West Aztec Ave. Gallup NM 87301Pharmacist - ResponsibilitiesThe Pharmacist verifies prescription orders for completeness, legality, and appropriateness.Check for potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.The Pharmacist ensures accurate preparation, labeling, and distribution of medications.Verify patient understanding and provide supplemental written instructions when necessary.Ensure adherence to federal, state, and institutional pharmacy regulations.Provide clear instructions on medication use, potential side effects, and precautions.Manage pharmaceutical supplies following established protocols.The Pharmacist assists with order organization and performs patient pill counts at the pharmacy window when necessary.Pharmacist - RequirementsMust have a degree from a school of pharmacy approved by a state-accrediting agency.Must have inpatient and outpatient pharmaceutical experience.
