Financial Controller

The Controller – North America leads accounting operations and financial reporting for Welspun's North American manufacturing operations. This role directs the accounting team in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls, and delivering timely, reliable financial information that supports operational and strategic decision-making across the organization. The Controller partners closely with plant leadership, commercial teams, and corporate finance to drive financial discipline, process improvement, and audit readiness. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reporting relationships, work assignments, and work schedules may be subject to change to meet company needs and business requirements. Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Direct and oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, cost accounting, and fixed assets. Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and management reports. Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company standards. Partner with plant and commercial leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support operational decision-making. Direct the preparation of cost analyses, rate studies, and profitability reporting by product line and facility. Coordinate and manage external audit engagements, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements. Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, and reconciliation processes across manufacturing locations. Evaluate and strengthen internal control systems, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Present financial results and analysis to senior leadership, highlighting risks, trends, and opportunities. Support system implementations and process improvement initiatives within the finance and accounting function. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, local, state, and federal regulations, and applicable accounting standards. Drive Cost Control initiatives across all facilities Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises staff within the Accounting & Finance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; conducting performance evaluations; and addressing employee relations matters. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA and/or Master's degree preferred. Minimum of fifteen to twenty years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment, including at least three years in a supervisory or leadership role. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex financial documents, technical procedures, and government regulations. Ability to write clear reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leadership, auditors, and regulatory agencies. Mathematical and Analytical Skills: Strong working knowledge of cost accounting, financial modeling, and statistical analysis. Ability to apply advanced accounting and financial concepts to practical business situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve complex problems involving multiple variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills: Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred), advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and general accounting and financial reporting software required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPA license preferred but not required. Other Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and manufacturing cost accounting principles. Experience managing external audits and multi-site consolidations preferred.
