Welding Fabricator

This role involves performing MIG welding and metal fabrication tasks in a manufacturing environment, working from measurements and drawings to produce high-quality finished components. You will support the full fabrication process, from initial fit-up through deburring, sanding, and grinding, while safely using a variety of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on a variety of metal components in a manufacturing environment, following established procedures and quality standards.
• Read and use a tape measure accurately on a daily basis to ensure precise measurements and proper fit-up of parts.
• Assist with deburring, sanding, and grinding finished welds to achieve clean, smooth, and visually acceptable surfaces.
• Fabricate metal parts and assemblies according to specifications, drawings, or instructions.
• Set up, operate, and maintain hand and power tools commonly used in welding and fabrication.
• Inspect welds and fabricated parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed.
• Follow all safety guidelines and shop rules to maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Collaborate with other shop team members to meet production goals and support continuous workflow.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with MIG welding in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately on a daily basis.
• Practical experience in metal fabrication, including fitting, welding, and finishing.
• Ability to perform deburring, sanding, and grinding of finished welds.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small shop team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Any education related to welding or metal fabrication is a plus.
• Any certifications in welding or fabrication are a bonus.
• Familiarity with different welding positions and techniques is beneficial.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or shop environment is advantageous.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Liberty, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
