Will not provide sponsorship Please see the skill matrix and job description below Day to Day FunctionsResponsible for developing and designing applications in Java and Oracle, handling critical incidents/non critical incidents, running automated test scripts. Ideal candidate familiar with test cases, and has experience with either automated or manual QA testing. This person will be processing data through java to the front end so the data request can be shown to the customer so someone with prior experience on customer facing applications is a plus. Also need to be experienced with SQL queries. Need someone who has been around entire SDLC including impact analysis when it comes to testing new features.The design, development, and maintenance of software applications.Creates user information solutions by developing and maintaining internet/intranet applications.Defines objectives by analyzing user requirements.Designs and develops user interfaces to internet/intranet applications by setting expectations in development life cycle; completing programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests.Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.Completes applications development by contributing to team meetings; Troubleshooting development and production problems.Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.Updates job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for fulfilling new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.The Systems are primarily focused on Java/Oracle. This highly technical and challenging position will work with the Java Development Sher-link Team on the National Accounts, Credit, and the Mobius Repository applications. Other areas of involvement may include providing web services to corporate and other departments including stores. Development responsibilities will encompass new logic/features, enhancements, and bug fixes/support.Essential FunctionsAcquire and interpret business requirements, creates a functional specification, and determines the most efficient/appropriate technologies.While following department established standards, influence users in determining the best design to meet project requirements. Responsible for implementing approved architecture design.Design, submit and review technical and process improvement recommendations as a member of the technical leadership team.Perform complex programming assignments requiring an advanced aptitude of established programming standards, methods, and best practices.Design application and database components for development projects.Perform analysis of business models, logical specifications, and/or customer requirements to design and build Internet solutions utilizing multiple technologies.Mitigate significant risks associated with projects, which have a high technical complexity and/or involve significant challenges to the business.Understand the business problem being solved and recommend the best solution.Maintain and modify applications; make approved changes by amending application documentation, developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes.Provide support for critical application problems and issues. Develop proactive measures to ensure issue is solved and or easily discovered going forward.Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the discovery and investigation of critical production problems as required.Collaborate with business domain experts to analyze and assess existing business critical functions. Recommend improvements to operational processes.Assist Project Manager in the definition, gathering, development, and documentation of business and/or technical requirements, objectives, deliverables, design specifications and project plans.Participate in requirements gathering and design responsibilities. Create documentation such as Technical Requirements and High-Level Design documents.Collaborate with other developers, programmers, and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications.Lead or participate in software design reviews.Assist in the diagnosis and correction of system issues and software bugs. Participate in measures to prevent them from happening again.Incidental FunctionsConduct research into new technologies, including tools, components, and frameworks.Train and knowledge share with development teams.Mentor and coach developers and/or Professional Apprentices.Self manage project work, tasks and status reporting as necessary.Make presentations to management, clients, and peer groups as requested.Provide off hour support for critical application problems and issues.Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with clients and approval of supervisor.Assist with other projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work.Participate in hiring activities and fulfilling affirmative action obligations and ensuring compliance with the equal employment opportunity policy.Minimal travel may be requiredWork outside the standard office 7.5 hour workday may be required.Position RequirementsBachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in related field or equivalent experience.5+ years of IT experience.Minimum of 5 years of experience working on all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle.Experience working with customers to build and formulate business requirements.5+ years Java, ORM/JPA/Hibernate, Web Services, Object-oriented design techniques, and common design patterns.3+ years of experience in writing SQL queries and stored procedures to Oracle databases.Experience testing, debugging, and diagnosing software bugs and system issues.Experience in automated testing desired.Microservices experience • Advanced skills implementing API and Microservices architecture using any of the market leading solutions • Experience in implementing business critical, high volume, and highly available services is a must. • A strong hands-on development track records building integration and application utilizing a variety of technologies, development tools and database systems.Physical Activities/Capabilities/Work EnvironmentSit for extended periods of time constantly; walk and stand occasionally.Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components constantly.Lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as computers, devices, and peripherals occasionally.Work environment involves everyday risk or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, i.e., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations.Work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.Minimal travel is requiredWork outside the standard office 7.5-hour workday may be required.
