Registered Nurse (RN)Location: Puyallup, WAUnit InformationICU: 40 bedsCVICU: 10 beds (no specific experience needed)PCU: 40 bedsPCU Observation: 18 beds with capability to expand to 27 beds during overflowCCU: 30 bedsMedical: 89 bedsSurgical: 55 bedsFlex Unit: 9 beds (combination of PCU and MS patients)Inpatient Rehabilitation: 47 bedsEmergency Room Holding Unit: for patients awaiting a bedExperience RequirementsICU: 2 years of ICU experiencePCU: 2 years of PCU experienceMedical-Surgical: 2 years in an acute care settingFirst-time travelers are welcomePatient Types/Common DiagnosesThe following conditions and patient types may be encountered:ICU: Respiratory failure, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, post-operative patients, strokes (CVA), flap surgeries, post-arrest patients, ETOH, IVDA. Note: No craniotomies, major traumas, or significant cardiothoracic cases.PCU: Respiratory compromise, sepsis, renal failure, bleeding disorders, general medical/surgical patients, CHF, COPD, pneumonia, orthopedic cases.Medical-Surgical: Patients with oncology needs, post-operative care, COPD, CHF, sepsis, DVT, and COVID.Inpatient Rehabilitation: Stroke, spinal cord injuries, TBI, post-COVID, and patients transitioning from ICU.Patient RatiosICU: 1:2 based on acuityPCU and CCU: 1:4 depending on acuity or patient dischargeMedical and Surgical: 1:5Rehabilitation: Team model with 2:8 (RN, LPN, Tech)Required Licenses and CertificationsICU: ACLS, BLS, NIHSSPCU: ACLS, BLS, NIHSSMedical-Surgical: BLS, NIHSSRequired SkillsICU: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, ventilation management, invasive line management, tracheostomy care, and management of general drains.PCU: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube management, lumbar drains, tracheostomy care, and IV medication titration (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine).Medical-Surgical: IV management, PCA administration, chest tube management, drainage, ostomy care, and IV antibiotics.Technology and EquipmentFamiliarity with Epic EMR is required.
