Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

Sr. Manufacturing Engineer – Huntsville, AL (Discovery) TSC’s Production Division is seeking a senior manufacturing engineer to lead process optimization and technology integration in an advanced electronics manufacturing environment, focusing on radar, communications, sensors, and antenna systems. Responsibilities Assist in developing and implementing assembly procedures and work instructions for high‑quality hardware. Introduce and train employees on new equipment, tooling, and manufacturing technologies. Lead safety, quality, cost, schedule, technical, and programmatic requirements, ensuring compliance with IPC, AS9100, J‑STD, MIL, and DOD standards. Conduct process audits and maintain records in accordance with company policies and procedures. Provide shop floor support, develop manufacturing plans, and coordinate engineering changes in an electrical/mechanical facility. Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians. Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) techniques to both new and existing products. Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into work instructions. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field from an ABET‑accredited institution. Minimum 8years of relevant experience (or a master’s degree with 6years, or a PhD with 3years). Experience in military/DoD manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, circuit card assemblies, and integration. Familiarity with IPC, J‑STD, MIL, DOD, and AS9100 standards and certification processes. Experience developing and implementing new maintenance and training programs. U.S. citizenship required; must obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Preferred Qualifications Active DoD Secret clearance. Experience with development programs and transition to production. Experience applying audit standards, procedures, and techniques. Ability to interact across all levels, communicate and implement agreed‑upon changes, and navigate difficult situations. Strong analytical skills in root cause analysis, corrective/preventive action determination. Effective communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment. Accurate record‑keeping and documentation skills.
