As a Machinist you'll complete a machining function from start to finish. You will load fixtures/parts onto the machine, set tools and generate offsets, and record dimensions throughout the machining process. What you'll do: * Machine products to tight tolerances * Reads and interprets specification manuals, blueprints, templates and layouts to determine machining operation to be performed * Verifies dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers * Computes dimensions and tolerances and measures and lays out work pieces * Adjusts and sets up machine tools for use by machining tool operators * Participates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements * Work independently and as a team to achieve maximum quality * Compute and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy * Observing all applicable safety practices * Carries out other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications * 3 or more years of experience as a Machinist including operating lathes or mills. * 3 or more years of experience reading/interpreting manuals and technical drawings, utilizing hands tools, and working with precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers). * 3 or more years of experience with manual machine tools operations. * Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance * Ability to stand for 5 plus hours at a time * High School Diploma, or GED * Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Desired Skills * Preferred CNC or Manual Machinist Certification * VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe) experience * High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy and precision Benefits that make life better : * Comprehensive Healthcare * 401(k) with 100% company match; up to 5% vested * Paid Time Off starting on day one * Bonus opportunities * Health- & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts * Short- & Long-Term Disability * Life & AD&D Insurance * Learning & Training opportunities Company Description Founded in 1911, we've always strived to improve — from developing proprietary repair processes to redesigning our facilities to make them among the most efficient in the world.
