Job Summary The Maintenance Technician works under minimal supervision performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. The technician position supports the manufacturing operations to ensure the equipment is running properly, safely, and efficiently. The technician also drives and helps the system with continuous improvement, working with other team members, both upstream and downstream, to maximize output and reduce downtime. All employees are held to standards that require adherence to all safety practices and compliance with all company policies and departmental employee expectations. Duties & Responsibilities Champion safety by maintaining a healthy work environment and enforcing company standards, policies, and procedures, as well as those required by state and federal law. Create excellent customer service by providing customers with quality products on time and in the amounts ordered. Perform assigned scheduled safety inspections throughout the manufacturing plant. Install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment. Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance during machine service. Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities. Use mechanical skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Experience in metal fabrication and welding is a plus. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities. Perform a variety of plumbing and carpentry functions. Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. Detect faulty operations and report any unusual situations with proper supervision. Participate in coordination of projects such as renovations. Maintain professionalism, courtesy, and knowledge of processes and equipment. Safely store, use, and maintain maintenance tools, parts, and supplies. Troubleshoot issues that arise. Transport material safely with a forklift. Comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Ensure required documentation is completed and signed correctly. Use proper PPE while performing all job duties. Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures. Ensure accuracy and quality of all deliverables. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred. Five or more years of industrial maintenance experience, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical experience in a production environment. At least two years of forklift operator experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably with unloading/loading of delivery vehicles. Forklift certification required and recertified every three years or as needed. Thorough understanding or the ability to learn production operations and machinery quickly. Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages preferred. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software for reports and logs. Teamwork and collaboration skills. Ability to work from heights using an aerial lift. Ability to use precision measuring tools and safely handle hand and power tools. Read and comprehend written instructions as required. Willingness to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and other required equipment. Willingness to work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments. Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Valid driver’s license. Continuous training in-house and externally as needed.
