Senior Loan Operations Specialist

This role is responsible for ensuring loan documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with bank policies and regulatory requirements while working closely with lenders, credit, and loan administration teams. The ideal candidate has strong loan operations experience, exceptional attention to detail, and thrives in a collaborative community banking environment. Prepare, review, and coordinate commercial and consumer loan closings. Book and fund loans accurately within the bank's core banking system. Review loan documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance. Coordinate with lenders, credit analysts, attorneys, title companies, and loan administration to facilitate timely loan closings. Maintain loan files and ensure all required documentation is properly executed and retained. Process loan modifications, renewals, extensions, and payoffs as needed. Assist with post-closing documentation, collateral tracking, and ongoing loan servicing activities. Resolve documentation exceptions and loan operation issues promptly. Ensure compliance with bank policies, lending procedures, and federal and state banking regulations. Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and responding to inquiries. Maintain accurate loan records and perform quality control reviews. Assist with departmental projects and process improvement initiatives. Job Qualifications Minimum 5 years of loan operations experience within a bank. Strong experience with commercial loan closing, booking, and funding. Knowledge of commercial and consumer loan documentation and loan servicing processes. Experience reviewing loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Familiarity with core banking systems and loan servicing platforms. Community banking experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of banking regulations and loan operations procedures. Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
