The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives. Achieves cooperation, teamwork and high morale between departments and staff by maintaining a positive, attentive and interactive manner. Responds to staff, visitors, patients and physician's question in a timely manner. Consults with staff, physicians, administration and Nurse Executive on nursing problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure patient needs are met. Intervenes in conflict situations while showing support, trust and respect to all concerned while maintaining confidentiality 100% of the time. Maintains costs and appropriate staffing ratios. This position assists in contributing to the hospital's philosophy, objectives, educational and Performances Improvement efforts, while providing supervision to staff assigned to his/her shift.

The Registered Nurse Supervisor is responsible for:

• Responsible for unit compliance with JOINT COMMISSION, CMS, state and regulatory standards and patient rights standards.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and formulates plans for improvement.
• Assist in developing staffing schedules in accordance with patient needs.
• Coordinate the process for determining and maintaining accurate legal processes for patients.
• Ensure Infection Control, Safety and Risk Management policies are consistently implemented on the unit.
• Process unusual occurrence reports, conduct investigations and corrective plans when needed.
• Participate in peer review committee and performance improvement activities and is responsible for the effectiveness of the unit quality improvement program.
• Monitor medical records for appropriate documentation of care and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with case management to ensure patients receive timely quality care.

Your Experience Matters What we're looking for:

• Education & Licensure: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Currently licensed to practice by the Illinois State Board of Nursing.
• Experience: A minimum of three (3) years' experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
• Additional Skill Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.

Compensation:
