Maintenance Mechanic Class BRand Whitney Container Dover NH - Dover, NH 03820OverviewSalary Range $28.15 - $32.70 Hourly Position Type Full Time Job Shift Second Shift Education Level High School Diploma or Equivalent Category ManufacturingDescriptionSUMMARY: The primary function of this position is to perform maintenance and repairs to manufacturing machinery, equipment, and property. This position will operate and assist in all functions of maintenance and repairs.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform routine preventive maintenance on production machinery and support equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems under the guidance of senior mechanics or supervisors.Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or malfunction, and promptly report findings to the maintenance team.Respond to unplanned maintenance requests to restore equipment functionality and maintain production schedules.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status.Follow all safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures to ensure a safe work environment during maintenance tasks.Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to identify opportunities for equipment improvements and efficiency gains.Assist with installation, setup, and testing of new machinery or components as directed by supervisors.Keep work areas clean and organized, ensuring tools and parts are properly stored after use.Participate in ongoing training and development to build technical skills and stay current with equipment and safety standardsSpecial projects as business dictatesSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilitiesSkills and QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required, craft or trade apprenticeship preferred0-2 years of experience in industrial maintenance or heavy equipment requiredExperience in corrugated maintenance preferredMust read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to this position and to the safety regulations.Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job.Must have attention to detail and focused concentration.Must be able to learn new tasks and complete tasks independently.Must be able to complete tasks that require a particular speed or productivity quota.Must be able to adhere to process protocol and must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.Physical DemandsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to handle or feel.The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Work EnvironmentThe noise level in the work environment is usually loud.Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles; vibrationsCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsMust maintain an internal Forklift licensePlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
