Job Description

This role focuses on performing preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general facilities components. You will troubleshoot issues, complete repairs, and ensure the building remains safe, functional, and well-maintained while adhering to company policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems in a timely and efficient manner.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls, ensuring issues are resolved with minimal disruption.
• Inspect buildings, equipment, and premises regularly to identify safety hazards and perform necessary maintenance to eliminate such hazards.
• Coordinate and work with external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance activities when required.
• Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and established procedures.
• Maintain an organized inventory of supplies, parts, and tools required for repair and maintenance tasks.
• Document all maintenance and repair work performed and maintain accurate logs for future reference and reporting.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively while performing maintenance and repair tasks.
• Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and occupants regarding maintenance activities, timelines, and any required follow-up.

Essential Skills

• 57 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with building maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general facilities systems.
• Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools for repair and maintenance tasks.
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems and their components.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and safe work practices.
• Basic understanding of plumbing systems and common repair methods.
• Ability to diagnose maintenance issues accurately and perform repairs independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC and building systems.
• Practical skills in carpentry, drywall repair, and painting.
• Good communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, occupants, and external contractors.
• Customer service mindset with a focus on timely and professional resolution of maintenance requests.
• Physical dexterity and the ability to lift heavy objects as needed for maintenance work.
• Ability to work in various conditions, including different temperatures, heights, and confined spaces as required by building maintenance tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with commercial HVAC systems in a building or facilities environment.
• Experience in general building trades such as carpentry, drywall, and painting.
• Strong organizational skills to manage maintenance logs, inventory, and multiple work orders.
• Attention to detail when inspecting equipment and documenting maintenance activities.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to established safety standards and procedures.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with external contractors and internal teams.

Work Environment

This position is based in a building or facilities environment that includes HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems. You will use a range of hand and power tools and work with commercial HVAC and other mechanical equipment. The role involves both scheduled preventive maintenance and responsive repair work, which may require moving throughout the facility, working in mechanical rooms, and accessing areas such as rooftops or tight spaces. You should be prepared to lift heavy objects and work in varying temperatures and conditions, depending on the location of equipment and the nature of the task.

This is a Contract position based out of Cincinnati, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
