Job Title : Data Architect Location : Naperville, IL Term : C2C/W2 Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to design, implement, and govern enterprise data architecture that supports business intelligence, analytics, AI/ML, and operational applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data modeling, cloud data platforms, data integration, governance, and modern data architectures. Key Responsibilities Design enterprise data architecture, data models, and database solutions. Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Define enterprise data standards, governance, and best practices. Design scalable data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures. Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, and application teams. Design ETL/ELT data pipelines and integration strategies. Ensure data quality, security, privacy, and compliance. Optimize database and cloud data platform performance. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and architecture improvements. Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives. Establish metadata management, master data management (MDM), and data lineage. Mentor technical teams on architecture standards and best practices. Required Skills Strong experience in Data Architecture Data Modeling (Conceptual, Logical & Physical) Data Warehousing Data Lake / Lakehouse Architecture SQL ETL/ELT Architecture Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, Synapse, or BigQuery Data Governance Metadata Management Master Data Management (MDM) Data Quality Frameworks Database Design (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) Performance Tuning API & Data Integration Agile/Scrum methodology Preferred Skills Python or Java Spark / PySpark Kafka Terraform Docker & Kubernetes DevOps / CI-CD AI/ML Data Platforms Data Mesh Data Fabric Informatica / Collibra / Alation Microsoft Purview Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Experience 10 15+ years in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Enterprise Data Management. Experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms. Hands‑on experience with cloud‑native data solutions. Experience with large‑scale structured and unstructured data.
