Chestnut Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Environmental Services Aide to join our team. This unique cross-trained position combines Housekeeping and Laundry Services , providing the opportunity to play an essential role in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and sanitary environment for our residents.

As an Environmental Services Aide, you'll help support infection prevention efforts while ensuring resident rooms, common areas, linens, and personal clothing are maintained to the highest standards. What You'll Do

Housekeeping Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas.

• Sweep, vacuum, dust mop, wet mop, and disinfect floors.

• Clean furniture, fixtures, windows, mirrors, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces.

• Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.

• Refill soap, paper towels, toilet tissue, and hygiene dispensers.

• Prepare vacant resident rooms for new admissions.

• Maintain cleaning equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.

• Follow established cleaning schedules and infection control procedures.

Laundry Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and facility linens.

• Ensure resident clothing is properly labeled and returned to the appropriate resident.

• Treat stained laundry and follow proper handling procedures for specialty items.

• Monitor linen inventory and remove worn or damaged linens from circulation.

• Maintain an organized and sanitary laundry area.

• Clean lint traps and laundry equipment daily.

• Safely use laundry chemicals and supplies while following infection control guidelines.

• Assist with ironing or pressing linens and resident clothing as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

• Cross-train and assist in both Housekeeping and Laundry departments based on facility needs.

• Attend departmental meetings and required in-service training.

• Practice safe work habits and comply with all OSHA, infection control, and facility policies.

• Protect resident privacy and confidentiality at all times.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Previous housekeeping and/or laundry experience preferred.

• Healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus.

• Knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, and infection prevention practices.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

• Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Frequent bending, stretching, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to push housekeeping and laundry carts throughout the facility.

• Ability to safely operate housekeeping and laundry equipment.
