OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

The Sourcing Manager proactively identifies, evaluates, and negotiates contract opportunities that leverage the purchasing power of Duke University and Duke University Health System. This role is responsible for managing supplier relationships, leading sourcing initiatives, ensuring contract compliance, and implementing strategies that reduce procurement costs while meeting organizational and regulatory requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Negotiate contracts with suppliers; evaluates bids and proposals and makes award decisions; review and interpret vendor contracts for accuracy and completeness.
• Manage contracts with suppliers to ensure supplier compliance; analyzes supplier change requests to existing contracts and approves changes or revisions.
• Participate on procurement sourcing teams for the research, bid and contract management of supplies and services.
• Participate in strategic planning to target future cost savings with appropriate commodity.
• Track markets to anticipate customer needs, changes to those needs, and the impact to existing contracts or development of future contracts; monitor inflation and its impact on forecasting.
• Evaluate Supplier performance through review of reports and customer feedback; resolve issues and implement solutions to address negative supplier performance.
• Act as liaison between university and subcontractors to implement fulfillment of contracts.
• Facilitate the resolution of disputes with supplier to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate the integration of new suppliers into the procurement system.
• Create and review reports showing status of contract activity.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education

Work generally requires the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or business-related field.

Experience

Requires five years of progressively responsible contract administration/procurement related experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $62,694.00 to USD $107,633.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
