Settlement Attorney

Location: Chantilly, VA
Job Type: Full-Time (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Salary: $150,000-$170,000 annually (DOE)

Job Summary

A well-established title and settlement services firm is seeking an experienced Settlement Attorney to join its team in Chantilly, VA . This position offers the opportunity to work directly with real estate professionals, buyers, sellers, and lenders while supporting a high-volume residential real estate settlement practice.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Virginia residential real estate transactions, title review, and settlements , along with excellent client relationship skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Virginia and be available to work onsite in the Chantilly office.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and interpret deeds, contracts, powers of attorney, trust documents, title reports, and other settlement-related legal documents.

• Conduct residential real estate settlements from contract through closing.

• Provide legal guidance and support to buyers, sellers, real estate agents, and lenders throughout the transaction process.

• Review land records and chain-of-title documentation.

• Resolve title issues, claims, and other curative matters.

• Develop and deliver educational presentations and training programs for real estate professionals.

• Maintain strong relationships with clients and industry partners.

• Assist with additional legal and settlement-related matters as needed.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in Virginia required.

• Minimum 3 years of residential real estate title and settlement experience .

• Strong knowledge of Virginia real estate law, title examination, and settlement procedures .

• Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.

• Ability to manage multiple transactions while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM .
