Physical Therapist (PT)

Schedule Part Time, Days Every Monday from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM Every other Saturday from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM Every other Sunday from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM Responsibilities Assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by Physical Therapist Assistants and Therapy techs. May be assigned to orient staff and students and assume the duties and responsibilities of the supervisor in the absence of that individual. Assesses patients' needs; identifies and initiates appropriate physical therapy interventions; works cooperatively with other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional physical therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork. Observes and evaluates treatment effects, accomplishment of short- and long-term goals. Recommends changes to physician if needed. Performs an appropriate assessment on each patient and performs reassessments as per policy. Performs accurate and timely QI scoring. The population includes adult and geriatric patients requiring an adult medical rehabilitation program and services. Assesses patient pain interfering with optimal level of function and participation in rehabilitation; makes appropriate interventions to reduce pain; contacts physician for intervention. Formulates and updates patient‑specific plans of care for physical therapy. Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; includes family as appropriate. Performs appropriate documentation. Reports patient progress and barriers to discharge in each patient team conference. Qualifications Education: Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state where the hospital is located. Experience: Inpatient rehab experience preferred.
