Medical Laboratory Technician/Hematology

Job Summary We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician/Hematology to join IQVIA Laboratories in Valencia, CA. This office‑based role is scheduled Tuesday–Saturday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM. The position involves performing routine hematology and laboratory testing procedures while ensuring accurate documentation, data review, and compliance with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements. What You’ll Be Doing Perform and document analytical procedures in accordance with standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines. Review routine data to confirm analytical procedures are performing as expected and results are within acceptable tolerances. Identify unusual results or performance issues and report them to senior laboratory personnel. Prepare data analysis results for upload into the Laboratory Information Management System under senior staff guidance. Perform calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment as assigned. Support quality investigations, deviations, procedural updates, and implementation of laboratory changes. Guide entry‑level staff on routine procedures and support onboarding and hands‑on training activities. What We Are Looking For Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor of Science in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology may be required at some locations. At least 6 months’ experience in a regulated laboratory environment. Working knowledge of applicable regulatory standards such as Good Laboratory Practices, C... Lab, and CLIA guidelines. Proficiency with laboratory techniques, automation or specialized laboratory equipment, and Laboratory Information Management System supported workflows. Other equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed Strong attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple laboratory tasks simultaneously. Good computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and communicate clearly and timely. Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control procedures, standard precautions, and hazardous chemical handling. Ability to perform routine and non‑routine laboratory calculations, including averages, means, standard deviations and quality control metrics. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, and close eye work on a computer or reading small prints. Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and tasks; occasional exposure to cold temperatures.
