Machinist Expected Pay Rate: $25 - $28 per hour A Veteran owned full-service national security operation, Deployed Global Solutions, LLC (DGS) delivers low visibility, intelligent, agile, resilient, and secure turnkey mission solutions that are tailored to meet the global needs of our customers. At DGS, we are one team, working together to develop mission solutions - anywhere, anytime. The Machinist fabricates precision engineered components used in the production of manufactured products and construction supply. The Machinist sets up and operates manufacturing equipment, inspecting completed parts to ensure quality and accuracy. This role involves operating a laser cutting table, press brake, sheet metal shear and other machining equipment to support fabrication and production processes. The Machinist conducts inspections of and preventative maintenance on machining equipment and performs other trade tasks in line with needs of the business. Duties and Responsibilities / Essential Functions
This position operates in professional office, workshop, production facility, and field environments which include working near moving mechanical parts, non-weather wet or humid conditions, and extreme cold and heat, using tools of the trade and other equipment. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb, and stand. Occasional lifting up to 75 lbs. may occur. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time, on-site, hourly position. Standard days and hours are 40 hours per week, weekends and extended hours as needed. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends will be required based on business needs.
DGS will pay a one-time, completely discretionary relocation incentive of $5,000.00 for a qualified applicant to relocate to Rome, NY for daily work at the DGS location there. The incentive will be payable once a qualified and selected candidate provides evidence of relocation and is contingent (vests) upon satisfactory completion of one year of misconduct-free employment, otherwise repayment of the incentive is required. Any offer of employment to a candidate not located in the Rome, NY area is contingent upon relocation to the vicinity of Rome, NY. Travel Occasional travel will be required. - Develop manufacturing plans based on part specifications
- Measure and mark raw materials for production.
- Set up and prepare machinery and equipment required for each stage of the manufacturing process.
- Operate and utilize laser cutting tables, press brakes, shears and other machining equipment.
- Operate equipment safely and accurately to complete production tasks.
- Monitor production activities, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance and upkeep on machine shop equipment.
- Assist with other day-to-day production activities in other trade areas.
- Familiarity with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) software and machinery used for computer-aided manufacturing.
- Knowledge of how to operate grinders, lathes, milling machines and other machining equipment.
- Ability to take precise measurements and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Demonstrable skill in operating laser tables, press brakes, shears, and other machining equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of industry safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to follow direction, collaborate effectively, and contribute to team objectives.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of machinist experience in an industrial and/or commercial manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal government security clearance.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) drug test and motor vehicle record review.
- Must possess a valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID requirements.
- Must be able to travel with the Continental United States (CONUS) and outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
