Family-owned company serving Charlotte for more than 40 years Stable, year-round employment Supportive and collaborative leadership team Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on employee experience Professional development and continuing education opportunities Quarterly company events and employee appreciation activities Long-term career growth Compensation and Benefits $60,000-$70,000 annual salary based on experience Medical, dental, vision, life, and supplemental insurance 401(k) with company match Paid holidays Birthday paid day off Paid time off Professional development opportunities What You'll Do Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers Support employee relations by providing guidance, coaching, and problem resolution Coordinate recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding activities Administer employee benefits and assist employees with benefit-related questions Maintain employee records and HR reporting through Paylocity Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws Assist with performance management processes and employee development initiatives Help facilitate annual employee check-ins and engagement efforts Support leadership with hiring best practices and interview coordination Coordinate employee appreciation events, recognition programs, and community involvement activities Build relationships with local trade schools and workforce development partners to support recruiting Participate in occasional technician ride-alongs to better understand field operations and company culture What We're Looking For Three or more years of Human Resources experience in a Generalist or similar HR role Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance Experience with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and benefits administration Experience supporting managers with employee performance and workplace concerns Experience using HRIS systems, with Paylocity experience preferred Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus Experience in HVAC, construction, plumbing, home services, or another skilled trades industry is preferred About Horne Heating and Air Conditioning Since 1983, Horne Heating and Air Conditioning has proudly served homeowners throughout the Charlotte area by providing dependable HVAC services backed by exceptional customer care.
