Job Description Job Title : Pharmacy Fulfillment Certified Pharmacy Technician Department: Pharmacy Fulfillment Center FLSA : Non-Exempt General Function Works in a fast-paced production environment known as an automated Central Fill Pharmacy. Assist pharmacists in the accurate preparation and distribution of prescription medications. Reporting Relations Accountable and Reports to: AVP, Pharmacy Services; FC Pharmacy Manager; Pharmacist; Lead Technicians Positions that Report to you: None Primary Duties and Responsibilities Works with co-workers as a team to ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures and facility policies Handles inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's expertise and judgment. Assists in developing standard operating procedures Prepares and affixes labels to prescription containers Assists in training employees Assists in adherence to quality assurance standards Gain complete understanding of Hy-Vee's retail pharmacy operations and, offering avenues to better serve them Reports any medication errors to appropriate personnel Orders, checks-in, and stocks pharmacy supplies Maintains cleanliness of pharmacy and dispensing area Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress Adheres to all statutes and regulations pertaining to a pharmacy technician Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours Performs mail order call center duties including data entry to prepare prescription orders Manually counts medication quantities and replenishes medication cells as needed Replaces empty medication cells and brings full cells to robots Secondary Duties and Responsibilities Assists in areas as needed Performs other related job duties and special projects as required Assist in stocking of pharmacy supplies Education and Experience H igh school diploma or equivalent. Certified as a licensed technician through a certified national program and maintains continuing education requirements to keep license active. Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk is preferred. Physical Requirements Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction, field of vision, and color vision. Must be able to physically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, reaching, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must have the ability to do logical or scientific thinking to solve problems; several abstract and concrete variables. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Have the ability to do arithmetic calculations involving arithmetic, algebraic and geometric calculations Ability to work in a fast paced environment, assisting in the preparation of accurate prescriptions. Must be able to compose original correspondence; follow technical manuals; have increased contact with people; interview counsel or advise people; evaluate technical data. Working Conditions This position frequently involves a fast work pace in a production setting. Must be able to handle multiple tasks on a daily basis. Equipment Used to Perform Job High volume solutions robotics, operating software, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Contacts Has daily contact with employees, suppliers, and delivery drivers. Has occasional contact with Hy-Vee stores, trade/professional organizations and federal/state governmental or regulatory agencies Confidentiality Maintains the confidentiality of the customer's private medical information according to the HIPAA act.
