Registered Nurse - Rehabilitation

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Rehabilitation Medical-Surgical Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to promote patient recovery, independence, and quality of life.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients, ensuring individualized treatment plans are followed.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
• Collaborate with physical, occupational, and speech therapists to support patient rehabilitation goals.
• Participate in patient and family teaching to promote understanding and engagement in care.
• Document patient progress and clinical interventions accurately in electronic health records.
• Serve as a backup Charge Nurse, providing leadership and oversight in clinical operations.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in the state or a Compact license; must be uploaded with profile.
• At least 2 years of recent Med Surg and Rehab nursing experience.
• Previous travel experience of at least 3 months required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Demonstrated ability to float between units and perform charge nurse duties.
• Must have own vehicle if local to the community, as public transportation is unavailable.
