Associate Underwriting Counsel - J.D. Required

Position Associate Commercial Underwriter Responsibilities Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization to personnel and customers related to issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies. Utilize underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite issuance of title insurance. Provide guidance to personnel in the performance of real estate settlement services. Issue underwriting standards and guidelines in accordance with established company processes. Qualifications Familiarity with real estate law, including federal and state regulations. Strong understanding of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of real estate title and settlement process. Strong analytical rigor and business acumen. Strong negotiation skills and ability to provide alternative solutions or convey unpopular information with tact. Ability to collaborate, act decisively, build relationships internally and externally. Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with ability to multi‑task, prioritize and follow up timely. Abstract thinking and creative solutions. Juris Doctor (J.D.) required. Candidates who are sitting for the bar exam, awaiting results, or actively preparing to take the bar are encouraged to apply. Successful admission to a state bar is required.
