Position: Hot Food Prep & Serving

Location: Custer Baker Intermediate School

Number of Days Per Year: 180 days per year

Hours Per Day: 9:30 am 1:30 pm

Duties: The Hot Food Prep position is responsible for preparing, cooking, and portioning menu items according to established recipes and food safety standards. This position assembles and pans food for production, prepares items for service, and serves meals to students in a fast-paced cafeteria environment while maintaining quality, accuracy, and portion control. The successful candidate must be able to work efficiently under time constraints, adapt to changing demands during meal service, and enjoy working in a busy, team-oriented setting. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a clean work area, following sanitation procedures, and assisting with kitchen cleanup and other food service duties as assigned. The position may occasionally perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager to support daily kitchen operations. May occasionally assist with other food preparation tasks, stocking supplies, serving meals, or other food service activities as needed.

Requirements: General knowledge and understanding of nutrition, ability to understand oral and written instructions, ability to interact positively with children, staff, and visitors. Positions require walking/standing for most of the time worked. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Previous food service experience preferred but not required.

Benefits: Basic Life Insurance - Available after a 60-day waiting period, on the 1st day of the following month. (Must work a minimum of 17.5 hours a week to receive this benefit)

Salary: Based on experience starting at $15 hourly
