This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments.About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced tech transactions attorney to join our legal team. This is a uniquely strategic role with a mix of both internal and external-facing responsibilities in an area of increasing importance and growth for Applied Intuition. In short, this role will make an impact. You will support Sales, Product, and Engineering. You will also have opportunities to expand your role as part of a small legal team in a high growth start up.Our ideal candidate is a business-minded lawyer who is focused on execution, prepared to lead on important deals, and comfortable making thoughtful and creative decisions. The role will require a high degree of self-sufficiency but also someone who enjoys being part of a supportive team dedicated to providing top legal service to our internal clients. You must be willing to roll up your sleeves and be comfortable working in ambiguity.At Applied, You Will:Lead the drafting, structuring, and negotiating of complex commercial contracts with a diverse range of customers and partners from automotive OEMs, Autonomous Vehicle (AV) startups, and other players in the AV ecosystemBe a trusted advisor to the leadership team on legal matters critical to the growth of the businessCollaborate cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Finance, Product, Engineering, etc.) to lead key initiativesSupport or activities related to IP, Product, and Compliance as neededCreate forms, playbooks, and training to improve consistency, execution speed, risk mitigation, and scalabilityDevelop and implement scalable and sustainable legal operations processes, programs and tools to support the legal team's efficient delivery of services to the broader companyProactively manage other duties that may arise as part of a small legal team in a high growth start-upWe're Looking For Someone Who Has:Experience structuring, drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, including software licenses, strategic partnerships, and joint development agreementsExperience negotiating and drafting IP and material contracts representations in stock purchase, merger, and asset purchase agreements in financingsDemeanor to thrive in a fast-paced sales focused environment, requiring exceptional organizational skills, juggling priorities, and adhering to strict deadlinesJ.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in one state bar.5+ years' of experience with the activities described above.Ability to travel (up to 20%)Nice To Have:Experience with some combination of law firm and in-house work.Computer science or engineering degree.Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.Please reference the job posting's subtitle for where this position will be located.
