Patient Care Tech at Dignity Health Phoenix, AZ

Responsibilities Performs patient related care tasks (direct care bathing, oral care, feeding). Assists patients with activities of daily living and provides direct patient care under supervision of a nurse. Obtains and records patient vital signs. Monitors and records daily intake and output. Obtains specimens including non-invasive body fluids and blood specimens. Monitors and performs actions to decrease patient length of stay, including use of a computerized Bed Tracking System, performing timely discharge duties and communicating discharge information to appropriate staff. Assists physicians/nurses with diagnostic tests, clinical procedures and other tasks as requested. Communicates patient needs and observed/reported changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse or physician. Documents all interactions in the patient's medical record. May assist nursing in the retrieval and delivery of medications per the unit standard. Qualifications Completion of a nursing assistant program or EMT program or completion of the first block of a nursing program. AZ Certified Nursing Assistant or Licensed Nursing Assistant, or AZ EMT license. American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification.
