Responsibilities lities Use radioactive isotopes to perform organ and bod y scansPrepare radioactive isotopes for administration to patients in accordance with physicians' orders; Administer and record dosages as wellPerform diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on photograph ic filmPosition patients and adjust immobilization devicesCompassionately explain procedures to patients and address c oncernsDemonstrate competency in the following: Biliary, Brain Spect, Bone Scan, Cardiac, Cisternogram, Colonic Bleed, Prostascint, Gallium, Gastric Emptying, GI Bleed, Indium Scan, Liver, MIBG, Oct reoscanMonitor, record and communicate utilizing computerized documentation (ME DITECH)Assist with transporting patients as Qualifications ications High School Gradua te or GEDGraduate of a Nuclear Medicine Technologist program (AMA-Approve d School)Current/Active Florida Department of Health license (CRT)Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred Current registry: NMTCB or ARRT (N)Current Basic Life Support (BLS) cert ification Knowledge of GAMM A camerasAbility to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up Required Skills Compassionate patient care and technical proficiency in nuclear medicine Preferred Skills Experience with computerized documentation systems and a strong understanding of radiopharmaceuticals.
