Consulting Data Engineer

Salary: $104,900 - 174,700 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with 10+ years of engineering experience, along with experience in data strategy and data management.
• A bachelors degree is preferred in Engineering or Computer Science, although equivalent experience is acceptable.
• We need an expert in software development processes and related methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
• Strong knowledge of current technology language development trends is required.
• We are seeking deep expertise in data engineering and maintenance, including applying best practices for overall project impact.
• Proven experience with relevant desktop tool sets is expected.
• We need a seasoned partner and leader for internal and external technology resources when addressing complex business needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
• Solid understanding of architectural principles is required.
• Excellent proficiency in data manipulation languages, including optimization techniques, is necessary.
• We are looking for expertise in development languages including Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, .Net, and HPCC.

• We serve as the primary technical contact for external technology partners.
• We work directly with customers and end users.
• We act as the recognized go-to resource for coding, technical, and data management matters.
• We collaborate with other technical team members to document, interpret, and finalize requirements.
• We produce efficient, repeatable, defect-free code that follows best practices such as naming conventions and encapsulation.
• We write and review detailed specifications for moderately complex system components.
• We resolve complex bugs and technical issues, researching root causes and documenting findings.
• We design and work with complex data models.
• We mentor lead data engineers interested in consultancy on development methods and optimization approaches.
• We partner with QA, project managers, technical leads, and subject matter experts to plan and run automated and performance testing.
• We develop and execute automated and performance scripts to support timely, on-budget, high-quality delivery.
• We conduct code and project reviews and help ensure quality control standards are in place for deliverables.
