Facilities TechnicianThe City of Saratoga Springs is hiring a full time Facilities Technician. This employee is responsible for assisting in the ongoing custodial & maintenance upkeep of City buildings to ensure that facilities are clean, safe, attractive, and secure. This is a full-time, non-exempt position of approximately 40 hours per week, shift hours. Wednesday - Saturday 5:00am to 4:00pm.Job ResponsibilitiesPerforms standard cleaning services such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash containers, dusting furniture, walls, machines, and equipment, cleaning interior windows, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, locker rooms, kitchens, and break rooms, polishing fixtures, and filling dispensersPerforms periodic major cleaning projectsKeeps accurate records of inventory and informs supervisor of supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance projectsNotifies supervisor concerning needed building or equipment repairsManages building security and safety by unlocking and locking doors after operating hoursWill be required to work outside of regular business hours as needed and may be required for emergency cleanup and repairs or scheduled maintenance workAssists with performing general building maintenance including, but not limited to, lighting, lamp replacement, painting, drywall, carpentry, minor electrical, and minor plumbingAssists with performing minor building repairs, as assigned, on items to include, but not limited to, windows, doors, switches, tables, equipment and appliances, sinks, toilets, HVAC, and wallsMay oversee building maintenance and repair work performed by outside vendorsAssists with the dissemination of information to other City Personnel and impacted parties on assigned projectsAssist with snow removal, during inclement weather, at City FacilitiesSets up and prepares buildings for special eventsMay assist with tracking, scheduling, and overseeing maintenance and repair of the Administrative department vehiclesPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications Education & Experience:Must be 18 years of ageA High School Diploma or GED equivalentMust have two (2) years of experience working in custodial fields, building maintenance, or a related fieldCertifications:Must possess a valid Utah Driver licenseKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrate the ability to follow City policies and proceduresRoutine knowledge of industrial cleaning/custodial duties, cleaning methods, and suppliesMust have an understanding of work hazards and safety proceduresUtilize computers and other electronic devices to maintain records, utilize task lists, and monitor messages while doing other workUse all tools and operate all equipment, properly and safely, necessary to perform work of the position including climbing ladders and balancing without assistanceEffectively communicate both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public, including receiving and implementing instructionsWork independently and to complete daily activities according to work scheduleBe highly attentive to detailOrganize, prioritize, and follow through with multiple projects of various complexity at the same time.Maintain a safe and clean environmentAdhere to best safety practices and comply with OSHA mandatesExercise sound and good judgment at all times, but especially in emergency situationsDeal with others in a pleasant, courteous, and calm mannerWorking ConditionsWork involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms all for extended periods of time. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.The employee may be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 50 poundsThe employee may be required to push, pull, lift, and/or move carts of items up to 100 pounds.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet while in the office and moderately loud when utilizing some equipmentWork requires the employee to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl, including on ladders or similar equipment without assistanceThe employee may be occasionally required to work in outside weather conditions, in wet and/or humid conditions, in high, precarious places, near fumes, airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicalsWork for sustained periods of time while maintaining efficiency, attention to detail, alertness, proficiency, and accuracyThis position requires the employee to drive City vehiclesCompensation and Benefits Salary Range: The full salary range is as follows, please note hiring will normally occur at the Minimum of the range and will not exceed the Midpoint of the range:Minimum - $22.58hr. Midpoint - $27.09/hr. Maximum - $31.61/hr.
