ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various ICU specialties, exceptional clinical skills, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.

Job Description

The position involves providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The nurse will work a night shift, typically from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Delivering comprehensive nursing care to ICU patients.
• Monitoring vital signs and patient conditions closely.
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Utilizing advanced monitoring equipment and technology.
• Floating to various units as needed, except Behavioral and Emergency Services.

Unit Information

The ICU consists of 42 beds, with specific areas designated for Neuro/Med, CTICU, and Surgical/Trauma patients:

• Neuro/Med: 22 beds - Common diagnoses include strokes, sepsis, altered mental status, neuro interventions, respiratory failure, and congestive heart failure.
• CTICU: 6 beds - Focused on cardiovascular surgical patients, including those with cardiogenic shock or post-operative complications.
• Surgical/Trauma: 14 beds - Treats patients with trauma and major post-operative surgical needs.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must have:

• A minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, with 4-5 years preferred.
• Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Prismaflex.
• Current certifications in AHA ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Active New York RN license and other necessary licenses.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, specifically EPIC.
• A valid driver's license with an address that matches the demographics.
