LaSalle Network is partnering with our client to hire a Data Engineer to design and build scalable data solutions across complex program areas. This Data Engineer role is based in Dallas, Texas, in a hybrid work environment. In this contract opportunity, the Data Engineer will step into an entrepreneurial, mission-driven setting where you’ll own ambiguous data problems end to end—partnering directly with subject-matter experts to translate needs into reliable data models, pipelines and systems. It’s an exciting chance to help shape and scale a modern data platform while making measurable impact through data.

• Design, build and maintain batch ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, clean and transform diverse datasets into a lakehouse

• Develop scalable data models and reusable, standardized data structures across multiple inconsistent data sources

• Operate and monitor scheduled jobs and workflows, including data quality checks, validation and alerting

• Troubleshoot data pipelines, identify root causes and implement sustainable improvements to reliability and performance

• Partner with technical and nontechnical stakeholders to define requirements, clarify data definitions and translate needs into system designs

• Contribute to platform standards, documentation and best practices (including governance and access policies)

Qualifications

• Professional experience in data engineering, data modeling and production ETL/ELT development

• Hands-on experience with Databricks (or a comparable modern lakehouse/Spark platform with the ability to ramp quickly)

• Strong SQL and Python skills

• Experience designing solutions for messy, heterogeneous external datasets and improving data quality and consistency

• Working knowledge of data governance and access control concepts (cataloging, permissions, principals/groups); Unity Catalog experience is a plus

• Experience with version control and collaborative development practices (Git/GitHub)

• Employment Type: Contract (6 months)

• Compensation: $50 – $60 hourly (W2)
