The Human Resources Manager Position
The Human Resources Manager supports EctoHR’s clients by managing the full breadth of HR functions and serving as a trusted partner. A typical day includes supporting onboarding efforts, administering payroll and benefits, handling employee relations matters, maintaining compliance documentation, and helping ensure HR processes run efficiently and effectively. A strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role.
Additionally, the Human Resources Manager collaborates closely with clients to provide hands-on support in areas such as policy implementation, performance management, training coordination, compliance tracking, and HR reporting. The ideal candidate brings professionalism, discretion, and the confidence to identify gaps and recommend practical solutions.
Experience, Skills and Abilities for the HR Manager Position
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
- At least two years of progressive HR experience leading multiple HR functions
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
- Process-driven with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with both external and internal partners
Compensation, Benefits and Structure for the HR Manager Position
This is a full-time, exempt position. Rewards for this position include a competitive base salary based on experience, skills, and abilities, health insurance, retirement plan with company match, generous paid time off, and the chance to work in a dynamic, team-based environment. Additional rewards include directly interfacing with client decision makers and continued professional development opportunities.
The position requires a 100% in-office presence at EctoHR’s Brighton, MI office.
The Recruitment Process for the HR Manager Position
The recruitment process includes a mixture of phone calls and in-person interviews, candidate assessments, a job shadow, and a pre-employment background check and drug test. The process is designed to make sure that candidates are aligned with EctoHR’s long-term goals and that candidates have shared core values.
