Montana Conservation Corps is hiring a Regional Director for our Northern Rockies (Kalispell) Office! The Regional Director (RD) position is responsible for the overall operations, culture and management of an MCC regional office. Primary duties include leading, tone setting, supervising and coordinating the regional staff and assurance of high quality program implementation, project development & coordination, community outreach and partnership cultivation. Regional Directors are a primary liaison between the state headquarters office and the region. The RD works in collaboration with various MCC State Office staff and the regional program staff to coordinate high quality programming at a regional level They must develop and maintain a good working relationship with project partners and community partners, regional staff and MCC staff statewide.
Montana Conservation Corps is a nonprofit organization that engages youth and young adults through hands-on conservation service and education. Our participants work on physically demanding and essential natural resource and conservation projects on some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the Northern Rockies and Plains. Here at MCC, we focus on the growth of our participants, positively impacting our climate and environment, and transferable job skills. MCC offers crew-based programming that uses natural resource and community service projects to foster personal and crew development. Our main goal is not to build trails but to help members develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to be active citizens in their community. Through a term of service with MCC, participants will learn practical job skills, build confidence, strengthen communication and leadership competencies, and develop the ability to work well with people from all walks of life.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partnership/Community Development:
- Create and implement an annual project partnership development plan; develop and steward strong partnerships with agencies and community entities.
- Solicit $800,000+ in projects and manage service agreements/contracts; meet stated project revenue goals
- Develop funding strategies in coordination with state staff to support programming efforts; write and submit appropriate, relevant grants
- Create, coordinate and manage full schedule of high quality, appropriate projects that support the Mission of MCC and enhance program goals including meaningful volunteer service day events
- Ensure an ethic of strong customer service with our project partners by providing prompt follow up with project partners as needed to ensure high quality performance of MCC crews
- Attend conferences and partner meetings to develop partnerships and funding opportunities
- Establish and serve as the community representative for MCC by serving as a resource regional non-profit, governmental and private entities
Administrative:
- Ensure all project paperwork (agreements, contracts, applications, evaluations, accomplishments) is of high quality and submitted in a timely manner
- Produce monthly/project status reports; complete project and grant reports or submit data as needed
- Work with Communications team to solicit and coordinate media coverage of MCC projects and activities
- Engage with statewide staff meetings, trainings and other events as requested; volunteer and participate in staff teams and on ad hoc committees as needed
- Serve as trainer for statewide and regional trainings
- Perform office administration duties such as phone, mail and email response in a timely manner; maintain organized administrative systems
- Be an engaged and contributing member of the RD Team and Leadership Team
- Work with RD team & Executive leadership to design and implement annual organizational plans and goals
- Manage regional facilities, equipment, technological and other infrastructure needs.
- Provide logistical support and staff oversight for activities at the Raven Work center, which is MCC’s residential facility that is located west of Kalispell
- Responsible for the proper management of all regional expenses on MCC accounts, vehicle credit cards and the MCC regional credit card.
- Manage the data entry of projects and data into the MCC salesforce database and ensure expenses are allocated properly to all projects.
Management and Supervision Exercised:
- Provide overall leadership, tone setting, and strategic planning for the region.
- Provide direct supervision and support to regional Program Managers in the management of participants, crew leaders and other regional field staff.
- Oversee the development of programs, hiring of participants, and logistical purchasing.
- Ensure compliance with all MCC policies, AmeriCorps policies, state and federal laws
- Manage regional disciplinary process and effectively coordinate with the state office as appropriate
- Effectively manage MCC regional incident response and emergency response coordination with project partners, law enforcement, first responders and the MCC state office
- Ensure risk management policies and procedures are implemented and up to date with current trends and needs.
- Cultivate an inclusive environment for all members and staff with particular attention to those under-represented in conservation and national service.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supervision and management
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Conservation Corps, outdoor recreation, or youth development organizations
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working on the management of conservation projects with non-profits or federal land management agencies.
- Experience with collaboration and building productive relations with staff and participants
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to speak effectively before groups
- Fluency with use of MS Office Suite, Google Apps and ability to manage information in database (Salesforce)
- A valid driver’s license, ability to pass a motor vehicle records check and insurable by MCC parameters

Physical Demands
This position may require periodic overnight travel and non-traditional work hours, including occasional weekend and evening hours. The Regional Director may be required to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted and to hike up to 12 miles per day in rugged terrain. The ability to independently drive an organizational vehicle is also required.
