Financial ManagerBensalem Township School DistrictPosition Title: Financial Manager Reports To: Director of Business Operations Classification: Administrative / Act 93Position SummaryThe Financial Manager is responsible for supporting the fiscal operations of the school district through budgeting, financial analysis, reporting, and compliance. This position ensures accurate financial management aligned with Pennsylvania School Code, PDE reporting requirements, and district policies.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBudget Development & MonitoringAssist in the development of the annual district budgetMonitor budget performance and provide variance analysisSupport long-range financial planning and projectionsFinancial Reporting & CompliancePrepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholdersEnsure compliance with:Pennsylvania School CodePDE reporting requirements (AFR, PIMS-related financial reporting)Federal and state grant requirementsAccounting & Fiscal OperationsOversee general ledger accuracy and account reconciliationMonitor revenues and expendituresAssist with audit preparation and respond to audit findingsManages real estate, tax collection and insurance programs of the districtData Analysis & Decision SupportProvide financial analysis to support district decision-makingIdentify cost-saving opportunities and efficienciesSupport financial modeling related to staffing, programs, and operationsGrant & Funding ManagementTrack grant expenditures and ensure complianceCoordinate with program leaders on allowable use of fundsCollaborationWork closely with:SuperintendentDirector of Business OperationsAccounting SupervisorHuman ResourcesDistrict administratorsQualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (required)Master's degree preferredCertification / RequirementsKnowledge of Pennsylvania school finance regulations requiredCPA or related certification preferredExperienceMinimum 5 years of financial/accounting experienceSchool district experience preferredKey SkillsFinancial analysis and forecastingKnowledge of public-school funding structuresStrong attention to detailAbility to communicate complex financial data clearlyAbility to organize, write, and set priorities.Training, experience and proficiency in using computers and MicrosoftSoftware including but not limited to Word and Excel.Training, experience and proficiency in using networked computer systems.Training, experience and proficiency with required software systemsExperience in completing government reports including federal, state and local reports.Salary is negotiable based upon experience and education.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.The duties of this job are normally performed in the following manner: The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle feel, and to type; to reach with hands and arms; to talk or hear and communicate verbally and in writing.
