Overview Knott’s Scary Farm is the longest‑running and most haunting Halloween theme park event in Southern California. We cast versatile and physically expressive performers to bring Halloween entertainment to life. Performers should be adaptable, quick‑thinking, and comfortable improvising while maintaining character in a highly immersive environment. Ideal candidates are team‑oriented, reliable, and available to attend all required orientations, training sessions, rehearsals, and event dates. Compensation $16.90 per hour. Responsibilities Use creativity and common sense to startle and scare guests safely. Work as a team to achieve overall atmosphere and goals set by entertainment leadership and show directors. Consistently perform the role as scripted or conceived. Remain in character while on‑stage and interact with guests in a professional manner. Use props and noise makers to support the guest scare experience safely. Perform vocalizations such as grunts, groans, growls, screams, and other monster noises to contribute to the assigned character. Maintain changes in posture, walk, body movements, and physical presence to enhance character believability. Provide guest service according to Six Flags standards, including initiating interactions, answering questions, and giving directions. Maintain cleanliness and safety in the assigned work area and comply with Six Flags Safety guidelines. Meet scheduling availability requirements (nights, weekends, holidays). Fulfill Scary Farm’s attendance requirements as outlined in the Six Flags attendance policy. Adhere to Six Flags Rules of Conduct, including costuming and grooming standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Available to work all assigned Scary Farm training and event dates (Thursday‑Sunday), including weekday/weekend nights and holidays; shifts may start as early as 3 pm and end as late as 3 am. Experience in stage acting or haunted attractions helpful, but not required. Willingness and ability to wear heavy makeup and/or full‑face mask for extended periods in variable Southern California temperatures. Ability to pass a background check for applicants 18 years or older, which may include credit, criminal, and DMV checks. Provide record of previous employment, education, and personal references, per company policy, unless prohibited by law. Audition Information After submitting an application, eligible applicants will receive a private link to schedule an audition. In‑person monster auditions will be hosted at Knott’s Berry Farm during June on the following dates: 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20. Select audition dates are reserved for returning talent; candidates must have a reservation to attend. Walk‑ins are not accepted.
