Light Equipment Operator 1 - 2nd Shift

Light Equipment Operator 1 – 2nd Shift (3:00 pm to 11:00 pm) Location: Iowa City, IA. Starting pay: $16.64 per hour, plus a $2.00 per hour premium shift differential. Job Description Operate offline and auxiliary binding/finishing/packaging equipment. Pack product at the press. Set up and adjust machine and equipment for production runs. Clean, lubricate, and maintain machine to ensure optimum operation. May troubleshoot issues and submit requests for maintenance as needed. May coordinate the assignment of crew members and provide training for new team members. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Familiarity with routine operating procedures of equipment and ability to set up and operate following step-by-step instructions. Ability to perform minor clerical tasks incidental to equipment operation (e.g., maintain machine operation records, write new identification labels). Skill in routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating equipment. Ability to identify improper machine operation and make basic adjustments. Physical Demands / Working Conditions Carry, lift, push, and pull 15–40 lbs.; twist, stand, walk, reach, and grasp throughout shift. Lifting 15–40 lbs. frequently; squatting and kneeling. Work in a fast‑paced environment with moving mechanical parts, airborne dust, paper particles, and industrial lift trucks. Exposure to noise levels requiring hearing protection. Benefits The pay range is $16.64 to $18.64 per hour, with potential for overtime, shift differential, call‑in, and stand‑by pay.
