Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of experience required License: South Carolina nursing license or compact license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in MS/Tele, telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias - Community hospital experience preferred Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in medical-surgical telemetry. The nurse will work night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:6 on the unit. Every other weekend is mandatory and non-negotiable. Travelers may need to float within their scope to meet facility needs. The unit is newly built, featuring bedside monitoring with telemetry capabilities. Leadership is available during off-shift hours and can be reached via phone. There is 24/7 coverage by a house supervisor on the unit. This role involves managing common medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, chronic respiratory illnesses, arrhythmias, and more. The ideal candidate will have experience with cardiac telemetry and management of dysrhythmias. The facility prioritizes candidates with a South Carolina license in hand. Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November.
