YOUTH PROGRAM COORDINATOR (After Schools Program)

Youth Program Coordinator (for After School Program Sites) Status: Full-time, Hourly, $21.63 per hour (grant funded – not negotiable at this time) Location: Miami, FL We are an Equal Opportunity Employer & a Drug Free Workplace. Summary Responsible for coordinating the YWCA’s Youth Programs, including the After‑School and Summer Camp Programs, under the direction and supervision of the Director of Youth Programs. Responsible for ensuring the completion and submission of all required activities, outcomes, and deliverables of the Youth Programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists the Director of Youth Programs in all functional aspects of maintaining smooth operations of the After School Program, including recommendations for hiring staff, managing personnel files, monitoring sites for compliance, and coordinating meetings and trainings as needed. Monitors assigned After School Program sites to assure program guidelines are being adhered to. Maintains assigned sites at appropriate staff levels and supervises site managers, site assistants, and activity leaders to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Assists staff in developing weekly curriculum to meet quality standards. Serves as liaison to school administration, principals, and volunteers. Assists the Youth Programs Director and/or Assistant Director in maintaining budget accuracy, staffing levels, and labor cost control. Interviews and recommends new hire candidates, trains staff, motivates staff, manages conflicts, and provides feedback, including performance reviews. Maintains personnel records and administrative documentation required by county and state regulations. Processes all personnel actions forms and prepares monthly purchase orders for payments. Reports incidents, accidents, and compliance issues within 24 hours to senior leadership. Investigates incidents and recommends corrective action. Mentors and trains after‑school staff on procedures and performance. Recommends employment status in accordance with YWCA policies. Monitors inventory supplies at sites. Mediates conflicts between staff. Coordinates in‑service training to meet M‑DCPS/TCT requirements. Supervises Site Managers for program compliance. Collects data to assess program efficiency. Coordinates multi‑site staff meetings. Updates staff on requirement changes. Monitors program enhancement activities. Reviews staff and participant files. Facilitates negotiations when needed. Travels to sites for monitoring and enhancements. Performs other duties as assigned; hours may vary to accommodate parents or program needs. Qualifications Education / Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, Education, Sociology, or related field and 2–4 years of related experience in a non‑profit environment (or equivalent education/experience). Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; respond to inquiries; present information effectively; and communicate in Spanish (required). Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rates, ratios, and percent, and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions with limited standardization. Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises temporary staff, volunteers, partners, and contractors; performs hiring, training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions in accordance with policies and laws. Work Environment: Requires traveling across county, working flexible hours including nights and weekends, and working independently in a virtual office environment. Physical Demands: Frequent sitting and reaching; regular standing, walking, handling objects; occasional climbing or balancing; lifting up to 10 pounds; good vision requirements. #J-18808-Ljbffr
