Food Server

Greets guests with a smile and a positive attitude. Leads and seats guests to a table, rotating the flow among stations, taking into consideration guest requests. Maintains a clean restroom environment. Thanks guests when they are leaving, and invites them back. Records reservations for 8 or more guests. Presents menu and promotional offerings; listening carefully and answering any questions for guest. Always answers the phone with an upbeat attitude, making guests feel like they’re the only guest we have. Keeps guests informed regarding table time, take out times, or anything that affects their experience with Macayo’s. Works in concert with management and staff to provide an exceptional dining experience to each guest, every time. Monitors table turnover at all times. Assists with duties in other areas to ensure a teamwork based environment and the best experience for our guests. Maintains wait list consistent with Macayo’s listed service standards. Requirements High school or equivalent preferred, but not required. No previous food service experience is required.Must be able to stand and walk at a fast pace for the entire shift (minimum of six hours) and to lift, bend and stoop.Must be able to frequently lift and carry bus tubs, trays and objects weighing 25 pounds.Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees.Must memorize the dining room(s) plan and the table numbers and the pivot point system prior to training.Must have complete menu awareness, working knowledge of To-Go Menu procedures, Reservation system, Wait list and Seating count form.A Host test must be passed during training. The test results should be considered confidential and are not to be circulated to other than the trainee or a Manager. All service personnel are required to pass the test with a minimum score of 75% to be eligible for a permanent station and to qualify for re-testing in one (1) week. Any trainee who scores an 80% on the initial test will be eligible for a fifty-cent increase if hired in at minimum wage. The host pay will stay at the training minimum wage until passing the test. Any trainee who scores an 80% on the initial test will not be required to re-test. If a trainee scores below 75% they must re-test in one (1) week.During this week they may be scheduled to continue their in-store training.The trainee must be scheduled with a Host/Hostess that has scored an 80% or above and/or with a Manager. A trainee that scores an 80% or better on the re-test can then be scheduled to a permanent station. If a trainee fails to pass the second test with a score of 80% or better, they will have an opportunity to re-test the following week.They must complete all in-store training shifts in a satisfactory manner according to Macayo’s service standards listed in the Host training manual.
