Welding & CNC Fabrication Operations Manager

Location: Shreveport, LA

Compensation: $25–$28 per hour, DOE

Employment Type: Full-Time

A day in this role

You step onto the shop floor and set the tone for the shift—aligning today’s build plan with available people, materials, and machines. You walk the weld bays, verify setups on CNC equipment, and solve a stubborn fit-up challenge with a hands-on tweak. Mid-morning, you recalibrate priorities to keep a hot project on track, coach a new team member on a safer technique, and tighten up inventory counts so the next run isn’t waiting on steel. By afternoon, you’re reviewing first-article quality, tuning the production schedule, and collaborating with leadership and neighboring departments to keep promises made to customers. Before you leave, the floor is organized, the queue is clear, and tomorrow’s work is ready to roll.

Core responsibilities

• Direct daily fabrication and welding activities across the shop.
• Hire, train, mentor, and support team members to perform at a high level.
• Set up, operate, and fine-tune CNC equipment when needed to keep throughput moving.
• Build and manage production schedules that keep projects on time and in sequence.
• Balance workflow, materials, and staffing to consistently hit deadlines.
• Oversee inventory, raw materials, and consumables to prevent shortages.
• Verify workmanship and ensure output meets company quality standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues with practical, hands-on solutions.
• Communicate clearly with your team, leadership, and other departments.
• Reprioritize quickly as demand shifts while maintaining schedule integrity.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient production environment.
