Associate Attorney (New Orleans or Mandeville) About the Role We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our New Orleans or Mandeville office. This is a hands on role within a sophisticated civil defense practice supporting a broad mix of litigation, including appellate, commercial, construction, insurance coverage, maritime, mass tort, and trucking matters. The practice is diverse and not siloed. Attorneys work across multiple areas, handling complex disputes for insurers, contractors, transportation companies, energy clients, and commercial businesses. The work includes high exposure personal injury, commercial and contract disputes, insurance coverage litigation, construction defect claims, maritime matters, and class action or mass tort exposure. Responsibilities Handle a diverse caseload across commercial litigation, construction, insurance coverage, maritime, trucking, and general liability matters Participate in all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation Assist with and contribute to appellate briefing and complex legal analysis where applicable Represent regional and national clients across multiple industries, including construction, energy, transportation, maritime, and commercial sectors Work directly with partners, clients, and carriers in an active litigation environment Take ownership of assignments and manage files with sound judgment and attention to detail Contribute to a busy, high expectation practice with meaningful responsibility from the start Qualifications Experience in civil litigation preferred, including commercial, insurance defense, personal injury, construction, maritime, trucking, or related areas Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills Ability to manage responsibilities in a fast paced litigation practice Comfortable working across multiple practice areas and handling an active caseload Preferred Experience Deposition and motion practice experience Exposure to commercial disputes, construction litigation, insurance coverage, maritime, or trucking matters Experience with high exposure personal injury or complex litigation Courtroom, hearing, or trial preparation experience Background in defense litigation or similarly demanding civil practice Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary based on experience, background, and overall fit Bonus opportunities and full benefits package Meaningful responsibility and direct mentorship Opportunity to work on sophisticated, high stakes litigation within a well established and growing firm Equal Opportunity Statement Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr and Smith is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace. #J-18808-Ljbffr
