Location: Warsaw, NC 28398
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $18.00–$24.00 per hour, based on experience and shift differentials
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Plastics Machine Operator to join a growing manufacturing team in Warsaw, North Carolina. This position is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in plastic extrusion, injection molding, or thermoforming, as well as motivated production workers interested in learning advanced plastics manufacturing.
Paid on-the-job training is available for qualified entry-level candidates. Experienced operators may qualify for higher starting pay based on their technical skills and ability to operate equipment independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor industrial plastics machinery, including extrusion and injection molding equipment.
- Monitor machine settings, temperature zones, pressures, speeds, and cycle times to maintain consistent product quality.
- Perform in-process quality inspections using calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
- Load materials, manage resin usage, and monitor scrap to minimize waste.
- Perform routine machine changeovers and minor tooling adjustments.
- Identify equipment or production issues and perform basic mechanical troubleshooting.
- Follow production instructions, safety procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area in accordance with 5S standards.
- Meet production, quality, and attendance expectations.
Qualifications
- Approximately 1–3 or more years of experience operating plastic extrusion, injection molding, or heavy-gauge thermoforming equipment.
- Experience with machine setup, process adjustments, changeovers, or basic troubleshooting.
- Ability to monitor production quality and identify process inconsistencies.
Additional Requirements
- Basic math skills and the ability to take accurate measurements.
- Ability to stand and move throughout the work shift.
- Ability to safely lift up to 35–50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Willingness to work rotating or night shifts as required.
- Reliable attendance, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and safety.
