About the Position

Travel RN – Med Surg/Telemetry We are seeking an experienced Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Cudahy, Wisconsin, just 20 minutes from Milwaukee. This position is located at a 100-bed Level IV Trauma Center with a supportive team environment and strong night-shift culture.   Assignment Details: • 13-Week Contract • Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM • 36 Hours per Week • Every Other Weekend Required • First-Time Travelers Welcome   Unit Information: • 33-Bed Med Surg/Telemetry Unit • Average Daily Census: 24-26 Patients • Primarily Adult and Geriatric Population   Common Patient Types: • Orthopedic Surgical Patients (Total Hips, Total Knees) • Urology Patients (TURPs, Cystoscopies) • General Surgery Patients • CHF • COPD • Cardiac Overflow • Diabetes Management • Renal, Liver and GI Disorders • Telemetry Monitoring   Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive Med Surg and Telemetry nursing care • Administer medications and monitor patient response • Interpret cardiac rhythms • Manage drains, chest tubes, NG tubes, and Foley catheters • Provide wound care and post-operative monitoring • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams   Technology: • EPIC EMR • Alaris IV Pumps • Pyxis Medication Dispensing   Additional Details: • Free Parking • Strong Team-Oriented Night Shift • Telemetry Monitoring Support Available • Charge Nurse with Reduced Assignment • 24/7 Hospitalist and Respiratory Therapy Support

Requirements

• Active RN License • Minimum 1 Year Recent Med Surg/Telemetry Experience • BLS Certification Required • ACLS Preferred • Experience with Telemetry Monitoring and Rhythm Interpretation • Experience Caring for Orthopedic, Surgical, and Medical Patients • Experience with NG Tubes, Foley Catheters, and Chest Tubes • Experience with Wound Care and Drain Management • Knowledge of Common Med Surg Drips Including Heparin, Insulin, Lasix, Amiodarone, and Cardizem • EPIC Experience Preferred Traveler must be comfortable floating to other Med Surg areas within the facility while maintaining a Med Surg patient assignment.
