Reporting to the Manager, Applications and Data, this role plays a critical part in maintaining secure, scalable, and efficient systems that support utility operations, customer programs, regulatory compliance, and enterprise decision making. The IT Senior Analyst serves as a technical subject matter expert for application lifecycle management, cloud platform operations, vendor supported releases, and system integrations. The role collaborates closely with business units, IT leadership, and external service providers to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, support modernization initiatives, and ensure applications meet cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory requirements. The IT Senior Analyst also contributes to data flow documentation, supports analytics enablement, and assists in evaluating new technologies that strengthen operational reliability and customer value. Other Essential Job Functions include: Application Support & Lifecycle Management Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of cloud-based and enterprise applications that support mission‑critical utility operations. Manage application lifecycle activities including upgrades, patches, enhancements, and vendor‑supported releases. Troubleshoot complex application issues, identify root causes, and coordinate resolution with vendors, service providers, and internal teams. Maintain documentation for application configurations, integrations, and operational procedures. Cloud Platform Operations Support cloud modernization initiatives, including system upgrades, migration activities, and efforts to reduce technical debt. Monitor cloud application performance, availability, and resource utilization to ensure cost‑effective and resilient operations. Validate new cloud technologies and architecture patterns through proof‑of‑con­cept activities under the direction of the Manager. Data & Integration Support Support data integration across legacy, cloud, and operational systems to ensure reliable and timely data availability. Document data flows and application interfaces to support analytics, reporting, and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with data engineers and analytics teams to ensure applications provide accurate, high‑quality data. Vendor & Service Provider Coordination Work with managed service providers, software vendors, and consultants to resolve issues, implement enhancements, and maintain service levels. Participate in contract oversight activities, including performance reviews and compliance checks. Security, Compliance & Operational Readiness Ensure applications comply with cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory requirements relevant to the utility industry. Support audit readiness by maintaining documentation, logs, and evidence of system controls. Assist in business continuity and disaster recovery planning for critical applications. Continuous Improvement & Innovation Identify opportunities to improve system performance, user experience, and operational efficiency. Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies that enhance LIPA’s digital capabilities. Support AI‑enabled initiatives by documenting application data flows and ensuring systems provide reliable inputs for models. Other Duties Perform other related duties as required. What We Need Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Five (5) years of progressive IT experience supporting enterprise applications, cloud platforms, or system integrations. Experience in troubleshooting complex technical issues and coordinating resolutions across multiple teams. Experience working with vendors, managed service providers, and cross-functional business partners. Experience supporting system upgrades, cloud migrations, or modernization initiatives. Skilled in troubleshooting complex technical issues and coordinating resolutions across multiple teams. Familiarity with modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and enterprise application ecosystems. Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively work with vendors, managed service providers, and cross-functional business partners. Demonstrated exposure to and knowledge of regulated or operationally critical environments such as utilities, energy, transportation, or infrastructure sectors. Knowledge and ability to support system upgrades, cloud migrations, or modernization initiatives. Strong technical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Ability to manage application lifecycle activities and coordinate vendor-supported releases. Familiarity with cloud modernization approaches and reducing technical debt. Understanding of data governance, data quality, and enterprise reporting concepts. Ability to document data flows and system integrations clearly and accurately. Awareness of AI concepts, use cases, and risks in a utility environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to evaluate vendor solutions and ensure service levels are met. Demonstrated proficiency supporting complex IT projects, including upgrades and cloud migrations. Ability to prioritize competing initiatives and manage time effectively. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree or certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field. Salary Range $99,000 - $121,000 #J-18808-Ljbffr
