Clover Park School District is seeking applicants to substitute for regular and special education classroom teachers. We want educators who are committed to a continuing program of professional and personal growth, and who want to be part of a growing, developing school district. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelors degree Washington Emergency Substitute Certified issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) . (Substitute Services will assist with this process upon hire.) Six month experience working with school age children Ability and desire to work on a constant basis – minimum 1 time a month Ability to develop and maintain effective classroom management Ability to successfully employ effective teaching methods Desire and ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds. Ability to be flexible and adaptable, as assignments may change on short notice and may require coverage in various classrooms or grade levels throughout the day. SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT The emergency substitute certificate is restrictedfor use after the list of otherwise qualified substitutes has been exhausted. Emergency substitutes are assigned through theHuman Resources office (Substitute Coordinator), and are not pre-arranged substitutes or building specific.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Follows lession plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students. Provides for individual differences in the learning needs of students. Provides a classroom climate which is based on mutual respect, rapport, fairness and consistency. Demonstrates competency in instructional skills. Evaluates in terms of planned goals and revises instruction as a result of the evaluation. Informs pupils of their progress in terms of the objectives set for the lesson or course of study. Interacts positively with students, professional associates, and patrons of the District. Meets classes, renders accurate reports, performs assigned duties punctually. Adjusts to varied situations, demands, and new instructional concepts. Fulfills job-related non-teaching duties. Directs student teachers, paraeducators, pupil tutors, Option C students, methods class students, and parent volunteers when such personnelare accepted to enhance the instructional program. Addresses student discipline. The essential functions listed above are not exhaustive and may besupplemented as necessary. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303.
