General Education and Training Specialist

Position Summary The primary purpose of this position is to perform the full range of conventional duties relating to a variety of education services programs, and to complete developmental assignments and training outlined in the formal training & development plan. Overview Open: 09/29/2025 – 09/28/2026 Salary: $49,960 to $90,898 per year (GS 7) Locations: Andrews AFB, MD; Minot AFB, ND; Nellis AFB, NV Appointment: Permanent, Full-time Remote work: No; Telework: No; Travel: Occasional; Relocation expenses reimbursed: No Duties Perform a variety of tasks selected by the supervisor or experienced employee, providing a practical understanding of the organization’s programs, policies, and objectives. Interview personnel to collect personal and academic histories, identify basic skill deficiencies through interviews and standardized testing programs, and arrange administration of tests. Assist in developing educational surveys and reports to determine new program requirements. Conditions of Employment Must read the entire Public Notice before applying. Qualifications Degree in education or a relevant subject‑matter field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must meet one of the qualification pathways listed below. For GS‑07: Completion of one full year of graduate level education, or a bachelor’s degree with Superior Academic Achievement, or five academic years of pre‑professional study, or one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS‑5. Superior Academic Achievement demonstrated by class standing, GPA, or membership in a national honor society (document required). At least one year of specialized experience at the GS‑05 level or equivalent, including interviewing personnel, administering tests, developing surveys, and advising students on educational and career objectives. Federal Time‑in‑Grade (TIG) requirement: minimum 52 weeks at GS‑05, GS‑07, or higher within the Federal Civil Service.
